Joinery

We can have any joinery made up for our clients and use a range of different joiners. It was a conscious decision by me to use joinery companies rather than set up shop myself. With several companies we can remain competitive. All joinery is produced to a very high standard and approved by myself before we use the item. The benefit to using a good joinery company is that they select the best quality timber. Timber is grown very fast now in comparison to 50 years ago so the grain of an old piece of timber is very tight and has a high level of natural resin. Timber bought ‘off the shelf’ is grown very fast and has a loose grain with low resin content, so therefore quality is sub-standard. Our joiners pick their own timber from the best of the stock from the supplier so the grain is good with fewer knots in than the timber as you would find ‘off the shelf.’
